Just five minutes’ stroll from Ripon’s ancient market square is the delightful Ripon Spa Hotel. The Spa itself is now purely historic, but our Ripon Hotel has countless pleasures to offer. Our Hotel has been privately owned by the same family for a century and new refurbishments now accentuate its graceful architecture and comfortable elegance. Set in eight glorious acres of landscaped grounds and gardens, it also boasts the finest drinks terrace in Ripon!

Some rooms have stunning views over our award-winning gardens and championship croquet lawns and some have been delightfully refurbished by the Yorkshire interior designer, Julian Maurice. Ever dreamed of relaxing in an elegant four-poster bed? We have just the room for you!

 

All bedrooms feature satellite TV, radio, hairdryer and hospitality trays. After a sound night’s sleep, our guests can look forward to a breakfast cooked with Yorkshire pride by our skilled chefs.

The Turf Bar & Bistro

 

For informal dining, try The Turf - our relaxed bar and bistro. Or eat alfresco on our graceful Terrace, overlooking the award-winning gardens. You can choose from a tempting selection of freshly-cooked dishes, presented with care. And to drink? A wide range of wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks is available. Our selection of hand-pulled beers includes Golden Hoop, Ripon Spa Croquet Club’s exclusive brew!

 

During Spring and Summer months you can also enjoy lunch and supper in the garden or on the terrace.

“Very Elegant and Comfortable Hotel”

We booked this hotel at the last minute online. I am disabled and put this on the booking details. Within 10 minutes Janet rang us to say she had a ground floor room if we wanted it. I said yes, and when we arrived the very helpful and friendly Janet on reception said she had upgraded us to a better room at no extra cost. It was very good and we had a lovely day and evening. The breakfast was a buffet style and very good. The grounds of the hotel are fantastic and have lots of facilities like croquet etc. There is a swimming pool just next door which guests can use. The Hotel itself is very traditional and the décor is beautiful. It is like staying in a stately home. All the staff were very friendly and we will definitely be going back there.

“Relaxing break”

We have just returned from a 3 night break at the Ripon Spa Hotel. We only booked 4 days before but we had a very comfortable twin- bedded room,6, overlooking the gardens. It was warm, very clean & plenty of space to have 2 comfortable chairs. The bathroom was on the small side but perfectly adequate with big fluffy towels & endless hot water. We enjoyed breakfast with a wide choice of food & in the evening the meals in the Turf Bar were delicious & a warm atmosphere helped by the log fire. We hope to visit again soon.

“Excellent location”

This hotel is ideally located within 3 minutes walk to the town and less than 10 minutes walk to the cathedral, the tourist information office and the river walk and museums. Our room was a very good size and comfortable with a nice view of the gardens. Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the kitchen closes at 8.45 and we arrived to late to eat but there a many good restaurants within walking distance. The only downside was the night porter who told us the bar was closed because people had to go home - which we were happy to accept as it was very late - but then opened the bar up for other guests who were friends of ours, after we had gone to bed. Other staff, including at breakfast were lovely. All in all this is a comfortable and friendly hotel and we would certainly use it again.
