Welcome to happy Mount Park - a traditional family park with modern facilities and attractions.  Happy Mount Park was originally created in the 1920s as a traditional urban park area. It has had a varied history with many unusual attractions including wild animals (with, believe it or not, a bear!) and a boating waterway.  Today's family-friendly attractions cater for more modern tastes, whilst carefully retaining the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity of a traditional park.  In 2007 Happy Mount Park was awarded a Green Flag Award after being judged by the Civic Trust to being a welcoming, safe, well maintained park.

Morecambe's premier music and community arts centre. Presenting the very best in live music, theatre, comedy, dance, children's entertainment, cabaret and the spoken word throughout the year. Plus lunchtime lectures, recitals, sequence dancing, conferences, exhibitions and a whole host of community based events.  For a current program of events tel the Box Office on 01524 582803.

The award winning Tern Project is a collection of unique artworks situated along the promenade area in Morecambe, Lancashire.  In 1990 Morecambe was given substantial government funding for coastal protection and derelict land clearance, and a search began for a theme around which the new Morecambe could evolve a new identity. What could be more appropriate than the bird life of Morecambe Bay? - thus The Tern Project was born.  The TERN project commenced in 1994 with development around the new Morrisons store.

Morecambe Winter Gardens is an old theatre with an unusual style of haunting. It is said that the building, which dates back to 1870 and sits on the front pier of Morecambe, has a good side and an evil side.  The stage in the main auditorium, in particular, is subject to this ghostly divide. It is said that people on one side of the stage are sometimes harassed by a spiritual entity with enough anger to push, poke or even slap them.  The building, originally the site of swimming baths, was successful and grew to become the People’s Palace.

Located in an up and coming sea-side resort based opposite Morecambe’s busy promenade, close to the historic city of Lancaster and beautiful countryside Morecambe Superbowl is the ideal place for a fun filled family day out.  Open 364 days of the year from 10am – late our centre is equipped with 20 lanes all fitted with computerised scoring and bumper rails.  Target ramps are easily accessible enabling both the young and old to bowl with ease. Of course bowling is our main attraction but we offer so much more! Games arcade with toy grabbers and 2p pushers a American style sea front diner.

The Streetwise Stunt Centre is a one of a kind place where you can experience and learn to master a huge selection of extreme and stunt sports.  As well as offering regular courses, many of which are suitable for all ages we also work with many schools, colleges and Lancaster City Council to provide exciting and very beneficial physical activities to people of all ages. With trained instructors and assistants, you’ll find Streetwise Stunt Centre a friendly and supportive place whatever challenge you take up.  Our courses are open for anyone to come and try out, any age or ability.

Heysham Pool is situated in the grounds of the adjacent High School on Osborne Road, Morecambe and offers a wide range of swimming activities throughout the year.  The pool is 25 metres by 10 metres with a maximum depth of 2 metres which allows for diving at the deep end.  For a quiet swim, the pool provides Adults Only and Ladies Only swimming sessions throughout the week. More active swimmers will enjoy the Aqua fit or Hydro fit sessions. For younger age groups, swimming lessons are available throughout the week. The pool has times for family sessions, providing mats and floats.

Apollo Morecambe is situated next to Festival Market car park where parking is free after 6pm. Our screens all have Sony 4K Digital, wheelchair spaces and are fully air-conditioned. We like to cater for everybody's film tastes and pockets and offer discount tickets on Tuesday and Thursdays.  We also have a great range of snacks available in our large refreshment area.  Cinemas come in all shapes and sizes and consequently are able to offer different types of facilities to their customers. We want to make it easy for you to visit us and aim to provide the best facilities possible.

We are constantly on the look-out for new and innovative ways of

improving our cinemas too, so watch this space. This cinema is equipped

with:

Imagine yourself in a Dark Futuristic Wasteland.  Lights flash, smoke swirls, the music pounds. You're armed but you feel vulnerable and you sense movement.  Suddenly a shadow comes to life, a bright red laser beam cuts through the darkness and barely misses your arm. Your heart pounds as you race for cover... Why imagine when you can play for real at Megazone Morecambe.  Experience the ultimate laser adventure with the ultimate laser gear.

Built in the centre of Lancaster against the backdrop of Lancaster Castle and Lancaster Priory this elegant, Grade I listed building is Lancaster's oldest town house. The house was originally home to Thomas Covell, Keeper of Lancaster Castle and notorious witch hunter. Between 1776 and 1975 the house became an impressive residence for judges visiting the Assize Court at nearby Lancaster Castle. The museum is now home to a renowned collection of Gillow furniture which is displayed in fabulous Regency period room settings, fine art and also the enchanting Museum of Childhood.

Lancaster Castle, often known as John O' Gaunt's Castle is one of the most historically interesting buildings in Lancashire. Its beginnings date back to Roman times and from its commanding position on the hill overlooking the town of Lancaster and the River Lune, it stood as a bastion against the marauding forces of Picts and Scots.  Today most of the castle is occupied by a Category 'C' prison, and is, of course, not open to the public.  However a sizeable proportion of the buidling is available to view.

This converted church in Lancaster is now a much-praised repertory theatre and cinema. Built in 1796 as the Parish Church of St Anne, it was cleverly converted into a theatre in 1971. As Lancashire's only professional producing theatre, The Dukes produces five shows a year, including an outdoor Promenade performance and a Christmas family show, and also hosts many leading touring theatre productions. There is a public bar which is open around performance times and most evenings.  In addition to its role as a theatre, The Dukes is an independent cinema and has a varied and extensive programme. Please see events listings for what's on daily or

phone the Box Office.

Live exotic butterflies fluttering and feeding amidst the flowers, trees and vines in the tropical rain forest housed in the former Palm House. Walk amongst some of the world's most beautiful species, including brilliant swallowtails, and cleverly camouflaged Owl butterflies within a natural habitat. The pupae of new butterflies can be seen in a special display case and you may even see a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis! In the stream that flows around the forest you will also find a variety of lively fish.  The Butterfly House is a popular destination for school trips & guided talks.

The Ashton Memorial was commissioned by Lord Ashton as a tribute to his late wife. Born in Lancaster, Lord Ashton became a millionaire producing oil cloth and linoleum which was exported from the port all over the world. It serve as reminder of the importance of Lancaster as a thriving commercial centre, not only in times past but now in the 21st century.  The first floor outdoor viewing gallery provides superb views of the surrounding countryside and across Morecambe Bay.

Lancaster City Museum and The King's Own Royal Regiment Museum. Situated in the heart of this historic cultural city of Lancaster in an elegant Georgian building. Discover more about Lancasters past from the Romans to the present day.  Trace the pedigree of Lancaster's regiment from 1680 onwards at the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum.  See the wonderful collection of portraits and landscapes on display.  Regularly changing exhibitions, events and activities for families.

Explore Lancaster’s Golden Age and rich maritime and natural history. Overlooking the river Lune, and the fabulous Georgian architecture of St George’s Quay sits Lancaster Maritime Museum. The Museum is housed in the Port of Lancaster Custom House and warehouse buildings which date from the second half of the 18th century. The buildings along the quayside developed around this time as a result of the success of overseas trade.  Alongside of the Museum are buildings which belonged to prosperous Quaker slave trader Dodshon Foster.

Welcome to the Grand Theatre, Lancaster. We have an amazing selection of shows for you to enjoy over the coming months. Click on the Shows link in the left hand menu to see what's on! Once you've had your appetite thoroughly whetted, you can book tickets online, over the phone on 01524 64695, or in person at our Box Office. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT POST OUT TICKETS.  They can be collected from the box office in advance or half an hour before the show.

The Priory and Parish Church of St Mary, Lancaster - Lancaster Priory as it is more commonly known - overlooks the centre of Lancaster.  It is situated adjacent to Lancaster Castle in a conservation area with stunning views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland Hills.  The church is a Grade 1 listed building, located on a site which has seen Christian worship since Saxon times. The carved choir stalls with their misericords are nationally famous. It is one of the most frequently visited parish churches in the North West, and particularly during the summer months.

The River Lune Millennium Park artworks were commissioned as part of Lancaster’s Millennium Project. The park stretches some 15 kilometres along the banks of the Lune from Bull Beck near Caton down to Salt Ayre in Lancaster. The park offers leisure and everyday transport opportunities with linked footpaths and cycleways, public artworks to discover and information 'stations'. The River Lune Millennium Park reintroduces the idea of a 'station' - a place from which a superb view could be gained - from the 18th century picturesque movement.

Great Stone Of Fourstones, Bentham

Bentham Pottery, Bentham

White Scar Cave, Ingleton

Ingleborough Cave, Clapham

Dalesbridge Centre, Austwick

The Great Stone of Fourstones, or the "Big Stone" as it is known locally, is a glacial deposit on the moorlands of Tatham Fells, situated 10 m into North Yorkshire, across the county border from Lancashire, at Bentham in the District of Craven.  As the name suggests, there were once four stones, but now there is only one. The other three were possibly broken up for scythe sharpening stones or building stone centuries ago.  Stones such as this, along with others such as The Hitching Stone situated further east along the North Yorkshire/Lancashire border, were used as meeting points.

Bentham Pottery is a thriving craft pottery located near Ingleton in North Yorkshire on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, selling pottery and offering pottery courses. Bentham Pottery is run by Kathy and Barrie Cartledge; and their son Lee. A range of high quality dish washer/oven proof domestic ceramic pottery wares are produced, as well as one off pots, named logo beakers, salt pigs (salt pots) and specially commissioned commemorative plates (anniversary plates make ideal gifts). Bentham Pottery is famous for its "Bentham blue" range, which has been in production now for over 20 years.

Deep beneath Ingleborough Hill, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, lies a hidden world which has been sculpted by nature over thousands of years. Imagine a subterranean landscape, beautifully lit, with gushing streams and waterfalls, exotic cave formations, and a huge ice-age cavern adorned with thousands of stalactites.  This is White Scar Cave.  White Scar Cave is open from 10am daily February to October, weekends November to January (weather permitting). Last tour 4pm. The cave is one and a half miles from the village of Ingleton, North Yorkshire, on the B6255 road to Hawes.

Until 1837 the secrets of Ingleborough Cave were hidden behind large natural calcite dams behind which water had ponded, submerging much of the passage beyond. These were broken down following a flood, to reveal a wonderland of sculpted passages and beautiful cave formations which have been delighting our visitors ever since.  The Cave was once the outflow for the streams that flow through the world-famous 17 km Gaping Gill cave system, but it has long been abandoned by the main stream, allowing it to be explored safely by visitors.

Beautifully situated in the Forest of Bowland at the point where it meets the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Dalesbridge offers stunning scenery and an idyllic setting for visitors wishing to stay and enjoy the area.  Dalesbridge is the ideal location for group bookings or individuals who wish to take advantage of the activities and sights this unique area is so well known for: from cycling, riding, fishing, walking and climbing to the delights of the nearby natural attractions of the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland that are too numerous to mention!
