Dish’s Cafe Bar & Bistro is owned and run by James Stubley, an experienced chef who’s
name in the trade is ‘Dishpig’. James gained his nickname whilst backpacking around
the world gaining experience with new flavours and techniques as far afield as South
East Asia and Australia. Dish’s aim is to encompass the very best of what cafe’s
and restaurants elsewhere in the world have to offer, in terms of culture, style
and atmosphere etc., whilst also providing what James calls ‘honest, real home-

Situated on the edge of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park, 4 miles from Fountains Abbey, 1/2 mile from the market town of Ripon with its beautiful Cathedral, 1 mile from Ripon Racecourse and a 20 minute drive to Harrogate. Now being run by Chef Owner Mark Brown. The small fresh menu is based on using only the best local ingredients, with fresh fish delivered daily.
Lockwoods Café bar and Restaurant aims to celebrate the best of Ripon's rich Cathedral City history, and the outstanding natural beauty of the surrounding area, whilst challenging it into the future. This theme of traditional and contemporary side by side is reflected in our decor, our Modern British and European menu, our extensive wine list, and the art on our walls. We have completely refurbished the listed building, keeping original features such as the brick walls, wooden floors and skylight, while introducing relaxed seating, modern lighting, a state of the art kitchen and a zinc topped bar.
Mario's Restaurant is a well established family run restaurant in the heart of the beautiful city of Ripon. Situated on Kirkgate, about 60yrd from the Ripon Cathedral it is a prime location for tourists and for locals. Established for nearly 7 years now with an ever growing clientele. Ranging from Ripon itself, Harrogate, York and so much more. The Restaurant in July 2010 was given a wonderful review in the York Press, and has been nominated for 2 very prestigious awards such as: Family Restaurant of the Year, and the Tourism and Hospitality award. Prima Pizzeria serves traditional Italian and continental cuisine of extremely high quality in a cosy atmosphere, making this a very popular restaurant. The high standards, yet reasonable prices, make booking highly recommended. Only a two minute walk from either Ripon Market Place or the Cathedral, Prima Pizzeria is very conveniently located at 33 Kirkgate. Children of all ages are always welcome.
The Royal Oak was originally built as a coaching inn and that tradition of superb hospitality certainly continues today with fantastic food, drink, stylish bedrooms and a warm welcome. The Royal Oak was extensively renovated in 2007 and is now one of the best places to eat, drink and stay in the city centre. Being situated in the city centre we are close to shops, the cathedral, museum and Ripon race course. We have a great mix of restaurant and drinking areas and not forgetting our outside courtyard.

We offer fine wines and traditional English pub fayre which, where possible, we source locally; *our meats are delivered fresh from Newby Hall Farm Shop and our cheese from Shepherd’s Purse to name but two sources. We welcome everyone to the Water Rat whether it be for a quick drink, a family meal or to catch up with the locals around the bar for the evening.
