Since the centre's creation in 1991, it has provided the public a glimpse into the sport of falconry as well as an insight to various birds of prey. However, the centre's primary goal is to assist the re-population of birds of prey around the world. The centre is part of a world wide breeding and conservation programme that hopes that one day, all of the species can be safe in their natural habitats around the world.  The centre's layout is designed so that the main complex only takes up a minimal of land, allowing the centre's falconers room to exercise and train the birds.

The 72 mile route from Settle to Carlisle takes you on a journey through the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, over the 24 arches of the Ribblehead Viaduct before plunging in to the longest tunnel on the line at Blea Moor. Emerging onto the side of Dentdale, the line leaves the Dales at Garsdale and makes it way through the gentle, lush rolling hills of the Eden Valley, with rural villages and market towns before arriving at the great border city of Carlisle.  Many organisations are involved with the line, but the key aim of them all is to promote, enhance and develop the line. We look forward to welcoming you!

Malham Cove is a natural limestone formation near Malham, North Yorkshire, England.  A well-known beauty spot, it comprises a huge, curved limestone cliff at the head of a valley, with a fine area of limestone pavement at the top. To the left-hand side of the 80-metre high cliff face are about four-hundred irregular stone steps: these lead to an uneven limestone pavement which slopes gently down from nearby Malham Tarn.

This Centre, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, occupies a large Georgian country house, leased from the National Trust. It is the focus of an internationally important National Nature Reserve and the Tarn itself is one of only eight upland alkaline lakes in Europe.  Within walking distance of the Centre are famous limestone features including Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and spectacular karst landscapes. Habitats include limestone pavement, grazed and ungrazed grassland, woodland and species-rich fen, acid peat pools and stony hill streams.

The perfect venue for your balloon flight. The Dales is an attractive and interesting area for all ages to visit and balloon over and a practical and convenient area to fly from. Join us for a flight over this area of outstanding natural beauty. Gaze down on the magnificent scenery as it gently drifts by. Local features you may have seen a hundred times before are revealed anew from this unfamiliar vantage point. Whether skimming through the treetops or high in the clouds, it will be an experience you will never forget.

The two Kilnsey fishing lakes are situated in spectacular surroundings. Both are 1 acre in size and are open all year round.  The lakes are stocked with our own home-grown rainbow, blue, golden and brown trout. The record fish caught so far weighed 22.5 lb.  There are several fishing tutors who regularly work at Kilnsey Park.  Please contact them direct if you would like to arrange fishing tuition at Kilnsey Park.  We hold various fishing events from time to time during the year.  See our Events page for details and sign up for our newsletter to get advance notice!

Kilnsey Trekking and Riding Centre is a family run riding centre that offers pony trekking, horse riding lessons and horse riding holidays from riding stables located in the North Yorkshire Dales National Park near to Skipton, Malham, Bolton Abbey and Harrogate. Our pony treks, horse rides and riding tuition are suitable for adults and children from the age of four; able and disabled riders; beginners, intermediate riders and advanced riders.  In the Wharfedale Valley, Kilnsey Trekking and Riding Centre is a BHS approved Riding School with BHS approved instructors and a Pony Club Approved Centre.

We have reminders of yesteryear... exhibits of lead mining, minerals, craft tools, lathes, Dales farming, period costumes, domestic accoutrements, World War II memorabilia, folk lore and the days of the Yorkshire Dales Railway recalled.  Grassington Folk Museum is entirely run by volunteers with professional support from the Craven Museum & Gallery.  We are closed until the Saturday before Easter (27th March 2010) from which date we shall be open every afternoon from 2pm until 4.30pm except Mondays unless they are Bank Holiday Mondays in which case we will be open as for other days.

Parcevall Hall Gardens lie on a steep hillside and are the only RHS and English Heritage registered gardens open to the public in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The twenty four acres of formal and woodland gardens rise up the hillside and command impressive views of Simons Seat and Wharfedale.  The gardens were laid out by the late Sir William Milner from 1927 onwards, and are planted with many specimen trees and shrubs collected from Western China and the Himalayas.

Stump Cross Caverns is one of Britain's premier show caves, located in Nidderdale on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  We offer a range of facilities for a great family day out, including a gift shop and tearoom as well as the caves themselves. There is also a twenty minute film presentation shown in our comfortable lecture theatre, informing visitors of the history and development of the caverns within the local area. The caves are open every day from 10am - 6pm (last admission into the caves is 4.45pm), from 13th February to 1st December.
